National Poetry Writing Month 2017 Poem #15

Disappointment comes again,

Whispering falsities that you’ll

Never be good enough–ever.

The last time that you tried,

You failed miserably–in vain.

A project has been left half-done.

It cries out to be complete by you.

Fear of not measuring up haunts

And pesters you as you struggle.

Quit would be simpler and easier.

But the challenge awaits, calling.

You can’t let it stop right there.

It can be completed successfully.

Don’t give in until it is finished.
